GLADIUS 12 is a compact remote-controlled weapon station (RCWS) designed for use on wheeled or tracked armored vehicles, ships, or stationary platforms in both ground and naval applications. GLADIUS is intended for monitoring the surroundings, detecting ground and aerial targets, including helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles, and effectively neutralizing them through fire control from an operator station located within the platform.
GLADIUS 12 is a flexible system with a modular design that allows the integration of machine guns with calibers ranging from 7.62 to 12.7 mm according to NATO and Eastern standards, and can be customized to meet the customer’s specific requirements for weapon systems and sensors.
The weapon station features a multi-axis construction. For reconnaissance, targeting, and firing, it uses a day camera with FULL HD resolution, a thermal (night) camera, and a laser rangefinder.
It is operated from an operator station equipped with a display, control panel, and joystick controls.
Other significant features include advanced modular software, the ability to integrate protective systems such as laser and radar detection systems with smoke grenade launchers, and the option to install ballistic protection up to level 2.
